Privacy Policy
ToneIn hasn't launched yet. Right now the only personal information we collect is what you give us when you join the waitlist. This policy explains what that is, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
Who we are
ToneIn is operated by Nathan Benayguev (“we”, “us”). Nathan Benayguev is responsible for how we handle personal information. You can reach them at toneinsupport@gmail.com.
What we collect
When you join the waitlist: your email address and, if you choose, your name; your experience level, operating system and main DAW; the plugin brands and plugins you tell us about and roughly how many you own; what you want to use ToneIn for and any sound you describe; how you heard about us; whether you want early beta invites; and, if we asked, whether you agreed to receive news and offers. We also record when you signed up and which version of this policy you were shown.
Automatically: our hosting provider processes technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request, in server logs used to deliver the site and keep it secure. We don't use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers, and the site doesn't load content from other companies' servers.
Please don't include sensitive personal information in the free-text answers.
How we use it
- To add you to the waitlist and email you about your spot, early access and, if you asked, beta invites.
- To decide which DAWs, plugins and uses to support first. We look at answers in aggregate.
- To send you ToneIn news and offers, but only if you separately opted in.
- To keep the form free of spam and abuse.
We don't sell your personal information, and we don't use it for advertising.
Your consent and choices
By joining the waitlist, you consent to us using your information for the purposes above. News and offers are optional and always asked for separately. You can withdraw consent at any time by using the unsubscribe link in any email or by contacting us at toneinsupport@gmail.com. We'll act on it within 10 business days. Withdrawing consent for waitlist emails removes you from the waitlist.
Where it's stored and who we share it with
We share personal information only with service providers that help us run ToneIn, and only what they need to do that:
- Supabase stores the waitlist database, in the West US (Oregon) region.
- Vercel hosts the website, primarily in the United States.
- An email delivery provider will process your email address once we start sending emails.
These providers process information on our behalf under contract. They may store or process it outside your province or country, including in the United States, where it may be accessible to courts, law enforcement and national security authorities under local law. We may also disclose information when required by law, or to a successor if ToneIn is sold or merged, in which case this policy continues to apply to it.
How long we keep it
We keep waitlist information until ToneIn launches publicly and for up to 12 months afterwards, then delete it. If you opted in to news and offers, we keep your email address for that purpose until you unsubscribe. You can ask us to delete your information sooner at any time.
How we protect it
Your answers are sent over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. The public side of the site can add waitlist entries but can't read them back; only we can view signups, through access-controlled accounts. No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach creates a real risk of significant harm, we'll notify you and the relevant authorities as the law requires.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it or have it deleted, and you can withdraw consent at any time. Email toneinsupport@gmail.com and we'll respond within 30 days.
If you're not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or, in Quebec, the Commission d'accès à l'information. If you're in the European Economic Area or the UK, you also have rights under the GDPR and can contact your local data protection authority; our legal bases there are your consent (for news and offers, if you opted in) and our legitimate interest in running the waitlist you asked to join.
Children
ToneIn isn't directed at children under 14, and we don't knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has signed up, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we make significant changes, we'll update the date at the top and, where required, ask for your consent again or let you know by email.
